She was known for her sanctity and for her gift of prophecy and was held in veneration by a large number of saints, both men and women. When Legazpi landed on the island of Cebu in 1565, one of his soldiers found an image of the Child Jesus. It is believed to be the same statue Magellan had given to the wife of the chieftain of the island after her baptism. The image is venerated today in the Basilica of Cebu.
