BAPTISM

Are Catholics saved or born again ? Answer with a resounding, "Yes!" Tell them that it is through Baptism that you were saved, just as the Bible says in 1 Ptr 3:20-21 and that it is through Baptism, water and the Spirit, that you are "born again," just as the Bible says in John 3:5. You see, many Protestants believe that they are saved by making one single act of faith at one single point in time in their lives. Nowhere does Scripture say such a thing. As Catholics, however, we believe that salvation is a process which begins with our Baptism and continues throughout our lifetimes, just as the Bible teaches . There are so many places in Scripture, which talk about how one is "saved", but not one of them says we are saved by one act of faith at just one point in time. As I just mentioned, 1 Ptr 3:20 says we are saved by baptism. In Hebrews 12:14 it says that we will not see the Lord unless we are holy, and that we have to strive for this holiness. In ...

INTRODUCTION TO MAY ROSARY

My brothers and sisters, few days from now we shall be entering the month of the rosary: May. *WHY MAY ROSARY?* The apparitions of  gives us the answer to this question.  The first appearance of our Lady(Mary) to the three prominent children of Fatima: *Francisco, Lucy and Jacinta* took place in May. At the event of the apparition, Mother Mary entreated the children to come to the same venue and pray for world peace, for the liberation of the souls of those souls in purgatory, for the forgiveness of sins, etc Some Catholics believe that the season of the rosary starts from May and ends in October since October was the last month of the apparition. Due to this they pray the rosary even when May is over. WHAT ARE WE EXPECTED TO DO IN MAY? In the course of the recitation of the rosary, we are expected to commune with our mother with all sincerity of heart, with our minds gaze on heaven and the mysteries of each day, with our souls and bodies  consecrated to her Imm...

PRAYER

Tuesday of the first week of Lent. 1st reading: Isaiah 55:10-11 Psalm:      34:4-7,16-19 Gospel: Matthew 6:7-15 Prayer My brothers and sisters in Christ, the gospel reading of today seems to teach us how to pray(Mathew 6:7-15). Prayer is a means of communication between God and man. The pagans babble their prayers so that they may make everyone aware that they know how to pray. In the long run, they end up doing a repetitive prayer. Repeating one thing over and over again is a nuisance which probably tends to disturb. Prayer is meant to be solemn, meditative and following an order. Jesus in the gospel gives us a perfect prayer which contains all that we say each and everyday of our lives; The Lord's Prayer or Our Father or Pater Noster(Latin). This prayer acknowledges the father and goes straight to the point because before we pray,God knows what we are about to ask Him(Mathew 6:8) and this cannot be disputed.  Relating this to the first reading(Isaiah 55...

DEVOTION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, AN EXALTING CALL TO HOLINESS

DEVOTION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, AN EXALTING CALL TO HOLINESS The last recourse of the greatest sinners who are on the edge of perdition is devotion to the immaculate Heart of Mary. The message of Fatima also tells us that it is the surest and the quickest road which leads to holiness. During the July 13 apparition,Our lady had told us in the secret that God wanted to establish in the world devotion to Her Immaculate Heart and that, in order to prevent the future of war, She would come to ask for the consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart as well as the the reparatory Communion of the first Saturdays. In another letter, Sister Lucy reports to us the confidences of Our Lord Himself. I very ardently desire the propagation of the cult and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, because that Heart is the magnet which attracts souls to Me, the Heart which radiates on the earth the rays of My light and of My love, the inexhaustible source which causes to pour over the ...

Jubilee of mercy prayer

JUBILEE OF MERCY PRAYER Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the heaven father and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him. Show us your faith and we will be saved. Your loving gaze freed Zacheus and Matthew from being enslaved by money. The adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things, made Peter weep after his betrayal and assured Paradise to the repentant thief. Let us hear as if addressed to each one of us the words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman; If you knew the gift of God. You are the visible face of the invisible father. Of the God who manifests His power above all by forgiveness and mercy. Let the church be your visible face in the world. Its Lord risen and glorified. You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness in other that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error. Send your spirit and consecrate everyone of us with its anointing so that the jubilee year of mercy may be ...
